The Werner Beierwaltes Chair in Neoplatonism pays tribute to one of the most remarkable thinkers in the contemporary renewal of Neoplatonic thought. Inspired by an academic tradition in which chairs bear the names of figures who embody the intellectual excellence of their field, this designation seeks to link teaching with the reflective and luminous legacy of Professor Beierwaltes. His name symbolises the commitment to a philosophical investigation of Neoplatonism, from unity and intelligence, which continues to inspire the dialogue between reason, metaphysics and the European spiritual tradition.

The Digital Humanities Programme brings together the humanities and contemporary technologies, promoting an interdisciplinary approach that unites critical analysis with technical innovation. Through artificial intelligence, data mining, interactive visualisation and network analysis, the programme fosters new forms of research, interpretation and preservation of knowledge. Its purpose is to renew the humanistic tradition, expanding its methods and horizons towards a fruitful dialogue between culture, technology and thought.

Study and research are, to a large extent, solitary activities. Sharing their fruits, however, is a deeply communal experience: the horizon widens, the love of knowledge takes root, and the treasure of learning —together with the passion for seeking it— spreads and is renewed. In many of us, the longing for the light of truth that rejuvenates the soul was born precisely from the encounter with those who live in and from that same spirit.

The university is, by its very nature, the proper place for that encounter. Yet daily routine —exams, reports, meetings, committees and so many other tasks— can at times dull what first awakened the university vocation. The Juniper and Dwelling Schools seek to rekindle that vocation by offering a space of free expression and constant exchange, enlivened by companionship and friendship.

Every February, the Wacholder Sommerschule, the Juniper Summer School, opens its doors to students and teachers alike, around a topic of genuinely academic interest. There are presentations, panel discussions and recreational activities that encourage dialogue and encounter. An osmotic experience to begin the year in the right spirit.

In July, the Wohnung Winterschule, the Dwelling Winter School, invites those who wish to share part of their research before submitting it for publication or defending their thesis. Few things are as stimulating as a conversation among colleagues and friends who care that our effort reaches a good end. And if that conversation takes place by the warmth of a fire, words are only a welcome complement.

Every three years, the Ελληνική Εκδρομή takes a group of the Foundation to the places where the tradition the Foundation studies and promotes was born and handed down. The first edition, from 8 to 21 February 2028, travels through classical Athens, the Peloponnese, Delphi, Meteora and Byzantine Thessaloniki, ending in Rome, accompanied by three half-day workshops —in Athens, Thessaloniki and Rome— devoted to luminous beauty in Plato, cosmic beauty in Maximus of Chrysopolis and divine beauty in Nicholas of Cusa. Later editions will take the journey to other places of that tradition.
